Can I use my physical membership card to enter the attraction?

All members are required to pre-book their visit date via our membership portal before visiting the Gardens to ensure safe distancing and better regulate crowds. Members need to access the e-Card via the membership portal or Gardens by the Bay mobile App and scan your QR code to gain entry to the attraction.

Kindly note that we have discontinued the issuance of physical card for new sign-ups and renewals with effect from 1 July 2020.

Why do I need to book a time slot?

To ensure safe distancing and for better crowd regulation, all members are required to book an entry time slot via the Gardens by the Bay Mobile App and to visit the attraction during the selected time slot. This will help to create a safer environment for all.

How do i book a visit time slot?

To enjoy the full app functionalities and features, please book a visit timeslot via the Gardens by the Bay mobile app. First, you will need to download Gardens by the Bay mobile application from Google Play Store or Apple Store. Open the mobile app, input your Name and Mobile Number and follow the instructions to sign in to the App. After you have successfully signed in, click on “Friends” icon, followed by “Book a Visit”, “Book Now”, select the attraction(s), number of visitors, date and time of visit.

I am a Friend of the Gardens but when I click on the "Friends" icon, I do not see my membership e-Card. I only see a message to "Sign up".

Your membership is tied to your registered mobile number or email. If you are not able to see your membership e-Card (“My Membership Card”) on the “Friends” page, it is likely that the mobile number or email you used to log in to the app differs from our membership records. Please email us at friends@gardensbythebay.com.sg (with your name, 20-digit membership number, mobile number and email) to enable us to update our membership records. Once the records have been updated, please log out and sign in to the app again. You should now be able to access your membership e-Card.

How many time slots can I book?

Members are allowed to book up to a total of 3 active time slots at any one time. This is to allow more members to visit during this period. If you would like to book another time slot, please utilise the booked time slot before proceeding with another booking. You may also opt to cancel your booking and rebook for another time slot.

I hold a Family/Family Plus membership. How do I make a booking for my family members and myself?

Sign in to Gardens by the Bay mobile app, click on “Friends” icon, followed by “Book a Visit”, “Book Now”, select the attraction(s), number of visitors (based on the total number of registered family members including yourself who will be visiting), date and time of visit.

I am an Individual Adult/Senior/Child member. Am I able to make a booking for my friend as well who is also a Friend of the Gardens?

Yes, individual members can also make a time-slot booking for other members at the same time, up to a maximum of 5 members (including yourself) for each timeslot. Members may be required to show their e-Card or physical card at the entrance as proof of membership.

To do so, simply sign in to Gardens by the Bay mobile app, click on “Friends” icon, followed by “Book a Visit”, “Book Now”, select the attraction(s), number of visitors (based on the total number of members including yourself who will be visiting), date and time of visit.

How can I change my visit timeslot?

Please email friends@gardensbythebay.com.sg if you need to make changes to the time slot. Any request to change time slots is subject to availability and should be submitted at least 24 hours before the scheduled visit.

Why do I see multiple accounts in the “My Membership Card” section?

Main cardmembers of Family and Family Plus memberships will be able to see multiple e-Cards of supplementary members under the same Family or Family Plus membership. You can update the mobile number and email address of the supplementary member(s) via the Mobile App. Thereafter, the supplementary member(s) access their own e-Card via the Mobile App, as membership access is tied to the registered mobile number/email.

What is Friends of the Gardens?

Friends of the Gardens is the official membership programme by Gardens by the Bay. It is our way of reaching out and engaging with our visitors from all walks of life. There are five types of membership, which are ideal for families and individual visitors. The memberships provide great savings for the visitors and can be renewed on a yearly basis.

What are the benefits for Friends of the Gardens?

Friends of the Gardens enjoy privileges and perks such as:

  • Unlimited admission to the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and OCBC Skyway
  • Free parking for the first 2 hours of every visit (not applicable for Child/Student cardholders)
  • Invitations to the Gardens’ workshops and events

How can I sign up for Friends of Gardens?

You can sign up for Friends of Gardens membership via the Gardens by the Bay Mobile App. Download the app from either Google Play Store or Apple Store, click on the “Friends” icon in the app and follow the instructions to sign up for a new membership. Click here to download the mobile app.

Please relaunch the app upon completion of sign-up, and click on the “Friends” icon to access to your membership e-Card details. Your membership access is tied to your registered mobile number / email.

What is the difference between new sign up and renewal?

A new sign-up is defined as where the applicant is either:
- Joining Friends of the Gardens for the first time or;
- A former member who take up a membership again or;
- A current member who is taking up a new membership category.

A renewal is defined as where a current member continue his/her membership for another year under the same* membership category within the membership validity period (and for Family/Family Plus membership, the main cardholder remain unchanged).

*With the exception of an Individual Adult member who renew to Senior membership. The member would need to meet the age requirement of Senior membership (i.e. 60 years old or above) at the point of renewal transaction to qualify for this. The membership system will recognise that you are eligible for Senior membership based on your date of birth, and automatically allow you to renew to a Senior membership.

Where is the Friends of the Gardens Centre located in Gardens by the Bay?

The Friends of the Gardens Centre is located opposite the main Ticketing Hub. The Centre opens daily from 9am to 8pm.

What is the difference between an Annual Pass and a Friends of the Gardens membership?

The Annual Pass was a term used previously to represent the 1-year admission pass which is no longer in use. Friends of the Gardens membership is the official name of the membership programme.

When will the Gardens implement the new Friends of the Gardens e-Card?

From 1 July 2020, the new e-Card will be implemented and we will no longer issue a physical card.

How long is my Friends of the Gardens membership valid for?

Your Friends of the Gardens membership is valid for one (1) year from the date of application.

How do I check my membership expiration date?

Your membership validity period is indicated on your membership e-Card. To check your membership expiry date, simply log in to your membership e-Card via Gardens by the Bay app, click on the “Friends” icon, followed by “My Membership Card”.

How is the date of membership expiry determined when I sign up and renew my membership?

For new sign-ups, the membership expiry date will be one (01) year from the date of application. For renewals, the renewed membership expiry date will be one (01) year from the current membership expiry date.

How do I access my membership e-Card?

To enjoy the full app features and functionalities, please access your membership e-Card via Gardens by the Bay mobile app. Simply download the app from Google Play Store or Apple Store, log-in to the app, click on the “Friends” icon, and you will be able to view your membership e-Card and other features which is accessible only by Friends of the Gardens (non-members will see a message to “Sign up” on this page). Membership is tied to your registered mobile number/email.

Alternatively, you may access your e-Card through your web browser via https://friends.gardensbythebay.com.sg/.

What are the key differences between the physical card and e-Card?

There are no changes to the membership benefits with the switch to e-Card. Instead, members get to enjoy greater convenience with the e-Card, including:

  1. Book visiting time slot prior to visiting the Gardens.
  2. Scan the e-Card to gain entry to the attractions for a contactless visiting experience.
  3. Do away with the need to redeem a physical complimentary parking coupon at every visit. The 2-hour complimentary parking will be automatically accorded based on the IU number that members had provided. For new sign-ups, please allow 5 working days for IU numbers to be uploaded onto our car park system.

What do I need to do to start using the e-Card?

Upon signing up, you will receive an email and SMS. Simply click on the link and follow the instructions to activate your e-Card.

Do I need to return my physical membership card to you?

There is no need to return the membership card to us.

Membership Plans

How do you define 'Adults', 'Children' and 'Seniors' for Friends of the Gardens?

'Children' refer to applicants aged between 3 and 12 years old. Applicants aged between 13 and 59 are considered as 'Adults'. Applicants who are 60 years old and above are considered as 'Seniors'.

What is the difference between the Family and Family Plus memberships?

  • Family membership is limited to 2 adults/seniors and 3 children (aged between 3 and 12 years old), and is strictly for family/extended family members only.
  • Family Plus membership allows up to 5 members with no age restrictions and is open to 5 individuals (may or may not be family members).

For both Family and Family Plus memberships, only one membership card will be issued.

Please note that memberships are non-transferable, so only the 5 family members stated on the Family / Family Plus membership card will be eligible to enjoy the Friends of the Gardens benefits.

Must all members of the Family or Family Plus membership be present to enter the ticketed attractions or enjoy the privileges?

The members could enter the ticketed attractions and enjoy the privileges individually or as a group by presenting the membership e-Card.

With the membership e-Card, membership access is tied to the registered mobile number(s)/email(s). Each individual member under the Family/Family Plus membership will be able to access their e-Card on their respective mobile phones, as long as the main cardholder update the individual family members’ mobile numbers/emails under their respective e-Cards in the membership app.

I have a valid Family membership but my child is turning 13. Can my child continue to enjoy the membership privileges until the membership expires?

Yes, your child is entitled to enjoy the privileges till the end of the membership period. You could consider a Family Plus membership or sign up a Child/Student membership (if your child is a full-time student) for your child after the current membership expires.

We are a multi-generation family (parents, grandparents and grandchildren), comprising of 3 adults and 2 children. Which membership plan should I take up?

You can sign up the Family Plus membership as it allows up to 5 members with no age restrictions.

Can I replace a member in the middle of the membership validity period?

As memberships are non-transferable, member replacements or change are not permitted in the middle of the membership validity period.

Can I transfer my membership to someone else?

Friends of the Gardens memberships are non-transferable.

I would like to change my membership plan. What should I do?

Change of membership category is considered as a new sign-up under the new category and this additional new membership plan will start on the date of the application. Having said so, for members who wish to change to a different* membership category, we would advise you to sign up for the new membership category after your current membership expires.

*With the exception of an Individual Adult member who renew to Senior membership. The member would need to meet the age requirement of Senior membership (i.e. 60 years old or above) at the point of renewal transaction to qualify for this. The membership system will recognise that you are eligible for Senior membership based on your date of birth, and automatically allow you to renew to a Senior membership.

Membership Benefits

How do I enjoy complimentary 2-hour parking?

Our new complimentary 2-hour parking via Contactless Carpark Entry system accords free parking to members via automated recognition of car IU. It is applicable for our Main Entrance, The Meadow, Satay by the Bay or Bayfront Plaza car parks. Terms and conditions apply.

To apply, simply download Gardens by the Bay mobile app, click “Friends”, “My Particulars”, and submit both your Car Plate and IU numbers. Processing takes at least 5 working days (excluding Sat and Sun). Members will receive a confirmation email once their car details have been successfully registered to the car park system. In the interim period, members may still continue to redeem their 2-hour parking coupons from our Friends of the Gardens Centre. The Centre is open daily from 9am to 8pm.

How do I enjoy my F&B and retail privileges?

Simply present your Friends of the Gardens membership e-Card when placing your order to enjoy the F&B privileges. Please note that you may be asked for your identification card for verification purposes.

In addition to flash-card privileges, we have e-voucher deals for members as well. Redeem your e-vouchers via our Gardens by the Bay Mobile App! Simply open your app and navigate to “Membership Privileges” to view your perks!

I am interested in attending workshops and programmes at Gardens by the Bay. How do I receive notifications for these events?

Emails will be sent to members to keep you informed about the upcoming events and programmes. You may wish to provide your email address if you did not do so during the time of application. You could do so at the Friends of the Gardens Centre or write in to friends@gardensbythebay.com.sg.

Renewals

When should I renew my Friends of the Gardens membership?

You can renew your membership any time before it expires. Your renewed membership will commence on the expiry date of your current membership. 

How will I know when my Friends of the Gardens membership is due for renewal?

You can simply check your membership validity period, which is indicated on your membership e-Card.

My membership had expired some time ago. As there is a renewal promotion at the moment, will I be eligible for it?

A renewal is defined as where a current member continue his/her membership for another year under the same* membership category within the membership validity period (and for Family/Family Plus membership, the main cardholder remain unchanged). Renewal promotion will not be applicable for you in this case.

*With the exception of an Individual Adult member who renew to Senior membership. The member would need to meet the age requirement of Senior membership (i.e. 60 years old or above) at the point of renewal transaction to qualify for this. Members who require such renewals can do so at our Friends of the Gardens Centre.

I have renewed my Friends of the Gardens membership and have not collected my new card. Can I still use my old membership card?

You do not need to collect a membership card, as we have discontinued issuance of physical membership cards with effect from 1 July 2020. Members can now enjoy the convenience of a membership e-Card. Upon successful membership renewal, your extended membership validity date will be immediately reflected on your membership e-Card.

I am holding an Individual Adult membership (valid till 8 June the following year). I am now 60 years old and eligible for a Senior membership. Can I renew my membership today to Senior membership?

Yes, you can. The membership system will recognise that you are eligible for Senior membership based on your date of birth, and automatically allow you to renew to a Senior membership. Your renewed membership expiry date for Senior membership will be 8 June the year after.

I am holding an Individual Adult membership (valid till 8 June the following year). I will turn 60 years old in two month’s time will be eligible for a Senior membership then. Can I renew my membership today to Senior membership?

You will need to meet the age requirement of Senior membership (i.e. 60 years or above) at the point of renewal to qualify for Senior membership. You can renew from Individual Adult to Senior membership after you have turned 60 years old.
