Try making a traditional lantern in this Parent-Child craft session inspired by a unique folk tradition!
Distinctive to Wang Mantian Village, located deep in the mountains of southern Anhui, this fish-shaped lantern boast a history of over 600 years and is a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage. Every year between the 13th and 16th day of the first month of Lunar Calendar, the locals hold these fish-shaped lanterns on a parade in hope for prosperity and peace. The lantern parade has since become a folklore activity that passes on the village's traditional culture.

The guzheng, or Chinese zither, may have a history that dates to the Warring States period of 475 to 221 BC, yet is still popular today. Try out the classic instrument in this 45-minute self-learning session with an instructor and tutorial video guiding you on the basic strokes and techniques.
