Home to more than 60 orchid species migrated from the highlands of Asia, Central to South America, and Africa, the Cloud Forest now brings you the beautiful, resilient orchids of Costa Rica.
This Central American country is one of the most bio-diverse paradises on earth, where some 1,300 discovered orchid species bloom and reside. From 28 June to 11 July 2022, over 30 of Costa Rica’s most beloved orchid species, including their very own national flower, will showcase their distinctive allures here at the Cloud Forest.
It has been Gardens by the Bay’s mission to bring flora of the world to Singapore. To make this possible, Cloud Forest Conservatory replicates the cool-moist montane forests climate, creating the perfect thriving ground for non-native species that would otherwise not be able to survive in our city’s tropical climate.
See it for yourself how some of Costa Rica’s most resilient orchids hold their pretty heads high at the Cloud Forest. In this latest exhibit, admire their amazing adaptability. Learn more about the importance of orchid conservation. And once again, be blown away by the stunning diversity of nature.

Flight of the Moth Orchid is a tribute to the Phalaenopsis orchid, a diverse genus whose floral form resembles that of a moth in flight. This new orchid display opens at Orchid Haven, a brand new space dedicated to orchids in the Cloud Forest cooled conservatory. In this display, more than 800 Phalaenopsis orchids of 17 taxa are showcased in a breathtaking “waterfall” of cascading blooms. The Phalaenopsis orchids on show have been carefully selected to show the distinct and occasionally dramatic characteristics that make it such a popular orchid among both breeders and orchid lovers alike, such as bright colours, peculiar patterns and markings, as well as floral mutations that result in even more stunning varieties.
