Sakura returns for its 11th edition with the rich heritage of Japan’s Ishikawa Prefecture, where the spirit of samurai and geisha, and generations-old crafts continue to endure today. Appearances by kawaii Sanrio characters Hello Kitty, My Melody and more add to the charm.
Held in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, this year’s Sakura is set against a lush backdrop of over 30 varieties of cherry, peach and plum blossoms in soft pinks, whites and deep pink hues surrounding landscapes inspired by Ishikawa’s historic districts. Wander through streets reminiscent of a geisha quarter, where wooden chaya buildings with lattice-covered façades line the way. The journey then leads to a recreation of an Edo-era samurai residence modelled after the Nomura family estate, once home to a prominent samurai family in Kanazawa. Within its walls, traditional crafts from Ishikawa — including lacquerware, gold leaf, dyed kimono textiles and other regional arts — are thoughtfully displayed.
Drawing from Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s Three Great Landscape Gardens, the floral display features a bridge set beneath a canopy of blossoms overlooking a serene pond. Nearby, Ishikawa’s famously wet climate is reflected through a rain feature that visitors can walk through.

Flower Dome
Witness the recreation of the two-storey Nomura residence, modelled after the former home of a samurai of the Maeda clan in Flower Dome. The house features an engawa, or veranda, overlooking a serene courtyard garden, complete with wooden sliding doors, tatami mats and traditional arts associated with Ishikawa.
Admire the cherry blossoms through a gentle curtain of rain, a feature inspired by the famously wet climate of Kanazawa in Flower Dome. This unique display captures the serene, rain-kissed beauty of a traditional Japanese spring morning.
Step into a floral wonderland where Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and Kuromi await! Nestled among the stunning cherry blossoms of the Flower Dome, these beloved Sanrio friends turn every stroll into a gift of wonder and a reason to smile.
