Enjoy a magical evening and journey through time at "Roses and Ballads: A Symphony of Blossoms in Singapore", a one-of-a-kind concert presented in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy where ancient melodies encounter the lush beauty of Singapore’s iconic Gardens by the Bay.

Immerse in an auditory feast amidst the breathtaking Rose Romance floral display as six distinguished opera artists from Türkiye perform a selection of beautiful melodies interpreted through a contemporary lens. More than a showcase of renowned arias from the international opera repertoire, "Roses and Ballads" is also a cultural experience that connects the classic with the contemporary, celebrating the enduring appeal of Turkish music and art as well as the richness of Anatolian culture.

Soprano - Görkem Ezgi Yıldırım

Görkem Ezgi Yıldırım graduated from Hacettepe University State Conservatory Opera Department. Following her graduation, she has showcased her talent as a soloist across prestigious venues including Schauspielhaus in Vienna, Austria, Grand Theatre in Luxembourg, Het Toneelhuis in Antwerp, Belgium, and Mannheim National Theatre Schauspielhaus Production SARAY in Germany. Her performances have earned her accolades such as the 'Female Opera Interpreter of the Year' at the Donizetti Classical Music Awards and the 'Suna Korad Special Award' presented by the Semiha Berksoy Opera Foundation. Currently, Görkem Ezgi Yıldırım graces the stage as a soloist at Ankara State Opera and Ballet in Turkey, continuing to enchant audiences with her remarkable talent and dedication to the art form.

Mezzosoprano - Ferda Yetişer

Ferda Yetişer graduated from Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Opera Department in 1989 and immediately started her career at Ankara State Opera and Ballet. Her repertoire includes iconic roles in productions such as Rigoletto, Il tabarro, Yolanta, Aida, Le Nozze di Figaro, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Madame Butterfly, Mahagonny, Idomeneo, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, and Die Fledermaus.

Tenor - Aykut Çınar

A graduate of the Hacettepe University Conservatoire in Turkey, Aykut Çınar worked closely under the guidance of Prof. Yalçın Davran. He has has showcased his talents globally, participating in numerous concerts and touring productions including Turkey, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mongolia, Estonia, Russia, Bulgaria and Poland. His concerts in Turkey include singing with Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, Presidential Symphony Orchestra and Aspendos Amphitheatre with Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra. Currently, Çınar continues to work as a performer for the Ankara State Opera as well as a lecturer for the Hacettepe University State Conservatoire.

Bariton - Arda Aktar

Arda Aktar started his education with Gulsen Kocaay by winning the Department of Singing Opera at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory in 1995. The artist continued his Singing and Opera education with Prof. Karl Markus at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (Frankfurt Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst) in Frankfurt, Germany until 2001. Aktar has performed in various operas and concerts across Turkey, showcasing his versatility in roles ranging from "The Marriage of Figaro" to "Madama Butterfly.” Aktar's passion for Lied repertoire has led him to perform internationally, winning awards including the "Best Performer" and "Audience Choice" awards at the International Capucilli-Patane-Respighi Singing Competition in 2013. Currently, the artist continues his role as a soloist at the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Directorate.

Bas - Mehmet Yılmaz

Mehmet Yılmaz entered Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory as a student of Yalçın Davran in 1985. For 16 years, he played various roles in opera productions and concerts as well as holding various administrative positions at the Mersin Opera and Ballet Directorate. The artist has not only performed in numerous works but also directed various productions, including children's plays, operettas, and operas. With a repertoire spanning both domestic and international stages, he currently continues his journey as a soloist at the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Directorate.

Piyanist - Hande Uçar Yanç

Hande Uçar Yanç pursued her education at Bilkent University in 2001, where she graduated with first degree in 2004. She has performed works by composers such as Beethoven, Liszt, and Mozart, showcasing her exceptional talent as a pianist. Uçar's passion for music extends beyond solo performance; she has also worked as a correpetitor at Bilkent University and Ankara State Opera and Ballet, accompanying various vocalists and ensembles. In the 100th anniversary of Kara Karayev's birth, she took part in concerts organized by Ankara State Opera Ballet and TRT, those concerts were broadcasted on TRT Radio.Uçar is still working as a correpetitor in Ankara State Opera and Ballet where she started to work in November 2013.
