Cannonball Room
Bamboo weaving is a traditional craft rooted in many Asian cultures, including Singapore. Once commonly seen in Kampungs and early local communities, bamboo was used to make everyday household items such as baskets, trays and even furniture.
Experience the cultural colours with this fun self-guided bamboo weaving craft activity and create your own piece of artwork!

The tradition of crafting and displaying Chinese lanterns to celebrate festivals dates back to the Han Dynasty in China and is closely related to traditional Chinese culture and customs. In Singapore, lanterns are hung outside homes, temples and clan associations and included in lantern displays during celebrations like the Spring Lantern Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.
