A fun post-exam programme for schools!

Race to Sustainability! is back!

Form as many teams of 4 students each and compete with other schools as you race against time to break codes, solve puzzles and complete various quests around the Gardens! This year, there are also 2 mystery challenges for you to showcase your school spirit and talents in Art and Design, so be sure to have 2 groups of 8 students each to accomplish these tasks!

Discovering new things about the Gardens and working together as a team have never been this fun! Attractive prizes await!

Learning Objectives

  • - Develop awareness of the threats and effects of habitat destruction and climate change
    - Understand the environmental sustainability strategies at Gardens by the Bay
    - Learn about the variety of plants on display, and their special adaptations
    - Raise awareness of current environmental issues, and appreciate the need for conservation and living responsibly as a global citizen
    - Exercise 21st century competencies and value individual effort and teamwork


  • Individual
    All participants will receive a Race to Sustainability! certificate and Finisher badge.


    Teams that demonstrate the ability to work well together during the Race stand a chance to win prizes for teamwork!


    Schools that send the most number of participants will win the award for Best Participation School.

    Schools that perform outstandingly well for the 2 mystery challenges will win attractive prizes!


  • School PE attire with covered shoes and a jacket for the Conservatories.

Programme Details

  • Primary School: 10 to 12 years old
    Secondary School: 13 to 17 years old
  • Fri, 19 Oct 2018
  • 9.00am – 1.00pm (Prize presentation at 12.30pm)
  • Gardens by the Bay
    (Conservatories and Outdoor Gardens)
  • Capacity: No limit (Participants must be grouped into teams of not more than 4)
  • $6 per pax^
  • One complimentary ticket will be issued to an accompanying teacher / adult for every 20 paying students.

    Race to Sustainability! is open to the following Primary and Secondary MOE Schools in Singapore: Government / Government-Aided / Independent / Specialised / Specialised-Independent.


    ^ The programme takes place in the Outdoor Gardens and Conservatories.

Things to Bring

  • For each participant
    Stationery, cap, sunblock, insect repellent, umbrella / poncho, drinking water, food / snacks

    For each team

    Smart phone / tablet with camera function (with the “Gardens by the Bay” Mobile App downloaded onto it, available here on App Store and Google Play)
