Purposeful Plants

Students will learn about the importance and uses of some plants and examples of man’s negative impact on the environment when the uses of plants are exploited.

Learning Objectives

    • Trace the energy pathway from the Sun through living things and identify the roles of various organisms (producers, consumers, predators, prey) in a food chain.
    • Appreciate the importance and uses of some plants
    • Recognise man’s impact on the environment, e.g. deforestation.

Programme Details

  • Primary 4-6

  • Plant Diversity, Importance and Uses of Plants and Man's Impact on Environment

  • Science, Art, CCE, English

  • 1.5 hours

  • Flower Dome and Cloud Forest (indoor)

  • $150 for 1 module (1.5hr) (Excludes admission fees to Flower Dome and Cloud Forest)

  • Capacity: 25
