What is Friends of the Gardens?

Friends of the Gardens is the official membership programme by Gardens by the Bay. It is our way of reaching out and engaging with our visitors from all walks of life. There are five types of membership, which are ideal for families and individual visitors. The memberships provide great savings for the visitors and can be renewed on a yearly basis.

What are the benefits for Friends of the Gardens?

Friends of the Gardens enjoy privileges and perks such as:

  • Unlimited admission to the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and OCBC Skyway
  • Free parking for the first 2 hours of every visit (not applicable for Child/Student cardholders)
  • Invitations to the Gardens’ workshops and events
  • Exclusive dining and retail privileges, plus birthday treats
  • Welcome pack with specially-selected dining and shopping vouchers
  • Quarterly membership e-Newsletter

How do I sign up or renew Friends of the Gardens membership?

The sign up and renewal process can be completed in person at the Friends of the Garden Centre. For renewal, please bring along your existing membership card. For Family or Family Plus membership, please ensure all members are present for photo-taking session. Full-time students applying for Child/Student membership will have to present valid student card for verification upon collection of membership card. Verification of age may be requested by Gardens by the Bay at the time of membership application. The photo will be printed on the membership card for verification purposes.

Alternatively, you can can sign-up or renew online.

What is the difference between new sign up and renewal?

Applications are considered as new sign up if the applicants have not been Friends of the Gardens, the applicants' previous memberships were expired, or the applicants are changing membership categories. 

For renewal, the members have submitted their applications within the membership period and there are no changes to the membership categories. For Family and Family Plus membership, the main cardholders remain the same.

Where is the Friends of the Gardens Centre located in Gardens by the Bay?

The Friends of the Gardens Centre is located opposite the main Ticketing Hub. The Centre opens daily from 9am to 8pm.

What is the difference between an Annual Pass and a Friends of the Gardens membership?

The Annual Pass was a term used previously to represent the 1-year admission pass which is no longer in use. Friends of the Gardens membership is the official name of the membership programme.

I lost my membership card. How do I replace it?

You can get a replacement card at the Friends of the Gardens Centre. Please note that there is an administrative fee of S$10.

How long is my Friends of the Gardens membership valid for?

Your Friends of the Gardens membership is valid for one (1) year from the date of purchase. For existing members who choose to continue with the same membership plan at renewal, the new membership plan will start when the current one expires.

For members who wish to change membership plans and/or any of the members at renewal, the new membership will commence from the date of application.

How do I check my membership expiration date?

Your membership validity period is indicated at the back of your membership card.

Membership Plans

How do you define 'Adults', 'Children' and 'Seniors' for Friends of the Gardens?

'Children' refer to applicants aged between 3 and 12 years old. Applicants aged between 13 and 59 are considered as 'Adults'. Applicants who are 60 years old and above are considered as 'Seniors'.

What is the difference between the Family and Family Plus memberships?

  • The Family membership is limited to 2 adults/seniors and 3 children (aged between 3 and 12 years old).
  • The Family Plus membership allows up to 5 members with no age restrictions.

Extended family members can be included in both the Family and Family Plus membership.

Please note that memberships are non-transferable, so only the 5 family members stated on the Family / Family Plus membership card will be eligible to enjoy the Friends of the Gardens benefits.

Must all members of the Family or Family Plus membership be present to enter the ticketed attractions or enjoy the privileges?

The members could enter the ticketed attractions and enjoy the privileges individually or as a group by presenting the membership card. Please note that only one card will be issued for each Family or Family Plus membership.

I have a valid Family membership but my child is turning 13. Can my child continue to enjoy the membership privileges until the membership expires?

Yes, your child is entitled to enjoy the privileges till the end of the membership period. You could consider a Family Plus membership or sign up a Child/Student membership (if your child is a full-time student) for your child after the current membership expires.

We are a multi-generation family (parents, grandparents and grandchildren), comprising of 3 adults and 2 children. Which membership plan should I take up?

You can sign up the Family Plus membership as it allows up to 5 members with no age restrictions.

Can I replace a member in the middle of the membership validity period?

As memberships are non-transferable, member replacements or change are not permitted in the middle of the membership validity period.

Can I transfer my membership to someone else?

Friends of the Gardens memberships are non-transferable.

I would like to change my membership plan. What should I do?

Change of membership plan will be considered as a new sign-up. The new membership plan will commence from the date of application.

CHILD/STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

What is the Child/Student membership?

It is a new membership category which is applicable for either a child aged between 3 and 12 years old or full-time students. The 1-year membership fee for a Child/Student membership is $34.

What are the benefits of this Child/Student membership?

A Child/Student membership entitles the holder to the same privileges and perks as other membership categories (Adult Individual, Senior, Family & Family Plus), except for the free parking for first 2 hours of every visit.

How long will this Child/Student membership be available?

Launched on 1 November 2016, it is an ongoing membership category.

Who is eligible to apply for the Child/Student membership?

The following 2 groups of applicants are eligible to apply for the Child/Student membership:
i) A child aged between 3 and 12 years old
ii) Full-time students

Is there an age limit for full-time students in your criteria?

There is no age limit, as long as you can provide the supporting proof of full-time student status by presenting an eligible student pass. 

You already have the Family membership. Why do you come up with a new Child/Student membership?

Our current Family membership cater to 2 Adult/Seniors and up to 3 children up to 12 years old. The Child/Student membership is suitable for those with bigger families (more than 3 children aged 3 – 12 years old), single-parent families as well as full-time students.

I am a single-parent with a child aged 3 - 12 years old. Can I apply for an Individual Adult membership for myself and a Child/Student membership for my child?

Yes, you can.

We have 4 children aged between 3 and 12 years old. What membership do you recommend we take up?

You can apply for a Family membership (2 Adults + 3 children) and a Child/Student membership for one of your children. 

We have 4 children with the eldest being 13 years old. What membership do you recommend we take up? My eldest child is a full-time Secondary 1 student.

You can apply for a Family membership (2 Adults + 3 children) and a Child/Student membership for your eldest child who is a full-time student.

We have a Family membership and my eldest child has the Child/Student membership. Does it mean that we are entitled to a total of two complimentary 2-hour parking coupons per visit when we present 2 membership cards?

The privilege on free parking for first 2-hours is not applicable for Child/Student members, as indicated in our terms and conditions. 

How do I sign up the Child/Student membership for my child(ren)?

You can apply online at our Friends of the Gardens website or onsite at our Friends of the Gardens Centre, opposite Ticketing Hub. Our Friends of the Gardens Centre is open from 9am – 8pm daily. For onsite application, your child(ren) will need to be present for photo-taking as the photograph will be printed on the membership card. 

Full-time students applying for Child/Student membership will have to present valid student card for verification upon collection of membership card. Verification of age may be requested by GB at the time of membership application.

Membership Benefits

How do I redeem and use the complimentary coupon for 2 hours of parking?

Please present your Friends of the Gardens membership card at the Friends of the Gardens Centre to redeem your complimentary 2-hour parking coupon. The Centre opens daily from 9am-8pm. Alternatively, you can redeem the parking coupon at the Arrival Information Counter between 9.00am to 9.00pm daily.

The coupon is valid for the first two hours of the entry to the Visitor Centre, Meadow or Satay by the Bay car parks. Members are entitled to one redemption per visit per day only.

To use the free parking coupon:

  1. Remove your CashCard from the vehicle's In-Vehicle Unit (IU).
  2. Scan the complimentary coupon at the exit gantry.
  3. If your vehicle has been parked for more than two hours, insert your CashCard into the IU to pay the remaining parking fees.

Free parking privilege is not applicable for Child/Student members, as indicated in our membership terms and conditions.

How do I enjoy my F&B privileges?

Simply present your Friends of the Gardens membership card when placing your order to enjoy the F&B privileges. Please note that you may be asked for your identification card for verification purposes.

How do I enjoy my membership privileges at the Gift Shops?

Simply present your Friends of the Gardens membership card to enjoy 10% discount on selected merchandise. Please note that you may be asked for proof of identification for verification purposes. 

I am interested in attending workshops and programmes at Gardens by the Bay. How do I receive notifications for these events?

Emails will be sent to members to keep you informed about the upcoming events and programmes. You may wish to provide your email address if you did not do so during the time of application. You could do so at the Friends of the Gardens Centre or write in to friends@gardensbythebay.com.sg.

Card Collection

Where do I collect my Friends of the Gardens membership card?

You can collect your card from the Friends of the Gardens Centre during your next visit. Full-time students applying for Child/Student membership will have to present valid student card for verification upon collection of membership card. Verification of age may be requested by Gardens by the Bay at the time of membership application.

When will my membership card be ready for collection?

If you applied or renew the membership online, you will receive a notification email upon successful processing. You can collect the membership card at the Friends of the Garden by presenting the printed notification email.

Please contact us at friends@gardensbythebay.com.sg if you do not receive the notification email within an hour.

For on-site applications or renewals, you will receive the card on-the-spot.

Can you send me my membership card by post?

We strongly recommend that you collect your card at the Friends of the Gardens Centre during your next visit.

Payment

Can I pay by cheque?

Currently, we only accept cash and credit card payments.

Renewals

When should I renew my Friends of the Gardens membership?

You can renew your membership any time before it expires. Your renewed membership will commence on the expiry date of your current membership. 

How will I know when my Friends of the Gardens membership is due for renewal?

You can simply check your membership validity period, which is printed on your membership card.

My membership had expired some time ago. As there is a renewal promotion at the moment, will I be eligible for it?

Renewal is defined as where a member renews his or her membership under the same membership category within the membership validity period. Renewal promotion will not be applicable for you in this case. 

I have renewed my Friends of the Gardens membership and have not collected my new card. Can I still use my old membership card?

You will not be able to enter the Conservatories and OCBC Skyway with your old card. Please collect your new card at the Friends of the Gardens Centre.

Upgrade Conservatories Ticket Scheme

What is this scheme about?

Visitors can enjoy a 25% discount for Friends of the Gardens memberships when they present two-conservatories ticket(s) and receipt(s) on the same day of visit.

What is the validity period of this scheme?

The promotion is ongoing, and valid with effect from 1 September 2015.

Who are eligible for this scheme?

The scheme is applicable to all visitors who hold two-conservatories ticket(s), and are eligible to sign-up for our Individual Adult, Senior, Child/Student, Family and Family Plus memberships.

How do I enjoy this upgrade scheme?

Simply present the required number of two-conservatories ticket(s) and receipt(s) at the Friends of the Gardens Centre to enjoy a 25% discount to upgrade to a 1-year Friends of the Gardens membership.

The following two-conservatories ticket(s) and receipt(s) will need to be presented to enjoy the upgrade promotion:

i. Individual Adult membership: 1 Adult ticket and receipt
ii. Senior membership: 1 Senior ticket and receipt
iii. Child/Student membership: 1 Child ticket and receipt (For full-time students who are 13 years old and above, they will need to present 1 Adult ticket, valid student card and receipt)
iv. Family membership: Minimum 3 tickets, with a least 1 Adult ticket and receipts
v. Family Plus membership: Minimum 3 Adult tickets and receipts 

I have the two-conservatories tickets but I don’t have the receipts for the purchase as I have already thrown them away. Can I still enjoy the upgrade scheme?

We will require both the two-conservatories ticket(s) and the corresponding receipt(s) as a proof of purchase to be able to accord you the 25% discount for the upgrade scheme.

I have the two-conservatories tickets but I don’t have the receipts for the purchase as I have already thrown them away. I do have the NETS/credit card receipts though which indicate the amount I paid for the tickets. Can I still enjoy the upgrade scheme?

We will check based on the details on your NETS/credit card receipt. You can enjoy the upgrade promotion if we are able to ascertain that your two-conservatories tickets were purchased on the same day from our ticketing hub.

We have the conservatory tickets, but we did not receive the receipt as we bought it from the travel agent. Can we still enjoy the upgrade scheme?

Only conservatory tickets purchased on-site at our ticketing hub or through the Gardens webpage are eligible for the upgrade scheme. For tickets purchased through third parties such as travel agents, they are not eligible for the scheme.

I am an existing member. Can I present you an Adult two-conservatories ticket and receipt to enjoy a 25% discount for my membership renewal?

The upgrade scheme is only applicable for new sign-ups.

I visited the two conservatories a few days ago. Can I use the Adult two-conservatories ticket and receipt to upgrade to an Individual Adult membership now?

The upgrade is only applicable on the same day of visit.

I have an Adult one-conservatory ticket and receipt for today. Can I use this ticket to upgrade to a membership?

Yes, you can. One-conservatory ticket(s) and receipt(s) are eligible for a 10% discount for upgrade to a Friends of the Gardens membership.

I purchased my tickets online from the Gardens by the Bay website. Is this ticket eligible for the upgrade scheme?

Yes, it is applicable provided the upgrade is done on the same day of visit.
